Dormicum 7.5 mg
Contains midazolam, a short-acting benzodiazepine known for its rapid onset and brief duration of action. It is primarily prescribed for short-term treatment of insomnia, sedation before surgeries or diagnostic procedures, and relief of severe anxiety in medical settings.
Dormicum works by enhancing the effect of GABA, the brain’s main inhibitory neurotransmitter, which results in sedative, calming, muscle-relaxing, and anticonvulsant effects. Compared to other benzodiazepines, Dormicum acts quickly but does not last long, making it suitable for procedural sedation or short-term sleep aid.
Due to its potent sedative properties, Dormicum should be used strictly under medical supervision. Misuse or extended use can cause dependence, memory problems, excessive drowsiness, and respiratory depression, especially if combined with alcohol or other central nervous system depressants.
• Primary uses: Short-term insomnia, procedural sedation, anxiety relief before medical interventions.
• Onset: Very fast; short duration of action.
• Warnings: Avoid alcohol and other sedatives; use caution in elderly or those with respiratory/liver issues.
• Risks: Dependence, respiratory depression, memory impairment, paradoxical reactions if misused.
